April 2011 - Mohawk Energy has entered into a contract with Statoil to develop an expandable Openhole clad system with drill through capability for the Heidrun business unit. Services provided will include the supply of Running Tools, Expandable Tubulars and Field Service. The contract covers the development, trial and rig installation of the equipment for installation in Q2 2012. The development is focused on effective mitigation of drilling hazards encountered in reservoir sections with unstable formations exposed. This contract builds on Mohawk Energy’s proven success in developing high expansion ratio expandable tubular systems.
January 2009 - Completed BP test well of the OHC mechanical expansion system. The following highlights outline the deployment:
-
The system has been tested in real well conditions
-
447’ of 3.50” tubular were successfully expanded in open hole with maximum
dog leg severity of 31°/100’ at approximately 7,000’ TVD
-
The drift diameter after expansion was 3.75”, as was confirmed by pass
through with 3.75” mill
September 2007 - Completed surface
qualification testing of the 10-3/4” HYDRA system developed for Shell-PDO in
Oman.
August 2007 - Completed surface test of 3-1/2” OHC system, developed in
collaboration with BP. The tool expanded 120 feet of casing 30%, in a 45 degree
per 100’ dogleg. The string contained 10 Mohawk “n2m” proprietary connectors.
July 2007 - Completed qualification process of the Mohawk “r2m” proprietary
thread. The testing program included expansion, fix-fixed expansion, internal
and external pressure testing and dog-leg expansion.
