On Line - Calculations
Expansion Force.- Calculating the expansion force of a given tubular for a given expansion ratio is useful in determining how much drill pipe pull or equivalent pressure is required. The basic formulas used in this model have an accuracy of 20%. If more precise calculations are required, contact a Mohawk representative.
Expansion against Formation.- The following calculation determines the amount the tubular wall can be pushed into the formation. This depends on the formation properties, for which some reference data is given. For more details, please see the publications page.
Pop-out.- During expansion of a casing string using the HYDRA system, the cone exits the top of the tubular under pressure or drill pipe pull force. The following calculation allow you to determine the minimum energy in the system by changing the drill string pull.
