Mohawk Energy was formed in 2004 focused solely on commercializing expandable technology from concept to product. This is achieved by improving reliability, capability and economics of expandables, creating the second generation of expandable products.
In 2006, Mohawk Energy signed its first Master Service Agreement with BP to develop a mechanical expansion system for the Cleveland formation.
Mohawk Energy’s second product development was born from a system that Mohawk was initially contracted to deliver for Shell PDO. In 2007, an exclusive global sales & installation agreement was made with Weatherford International. This provided an opportunity for Mohawk’s developed tubular, connection & running tools to be available on an international basis. This product is manufactured by Mohawk and “private label” marketed under the Weatherford HydraSkin product line.
Mohawk Energy is now preparing to launch a number of new expandable product lines. Mohawk will use its proprietary technology to enhance the reliability and functionality of new expandable products while reducing the cost of deployment and putting expandables in line with competing mainstream technologies.
Mohawk operates from it base in Houston, with ongoing expansion in Europe, currently located in Stavanger.
