M-TREX

Overview.- M-TREX is a mechanical, tractor driven solid expandable tubular system.
The M-TREX system is capable of expanding tubulars up to 30% in a wellbore or borehole with up to 45° per 100’ deviation.

Advantages of the M-TREX system:

No shoe drill out – Single trip system
Clad thru Clad capability – Unexpanded liner can pass through expanded liner for isolation of multiple trouble zones
Top down deployment – Provides for contingency operations unavailable with hydraulic expansion systems
No pressure is exerted on the ID of expandable liner – No “pop-out”

Applications of the M-TREX system:

Openhole Clads
Horizontal Sidetracking operations
Thru-Tubing
Casing Patches

Operational Procedure of the M-TREX system:

1.- Make-up expandable casing and tool.
2.- Connect running string and RIH to TD, circulating as required.
3.- Increase pump flow rate in order to shut off circulation valve and initiate expansion process.
4.- Apply expansion pressure until the system finishes the expansion stroke.
5.- Release pressure and lower work string to re-set tool.
6.- Repeat steps 4-5 until the casing is fully expanded.
7.- Pull out of hole.

Size and Availability - 3.5” OD expandable casing provides 3.75” post expansion drift diameter. Larger sizes available upon request. See size chart. for examples.
